An Inner Peace
Across the trail of evergreens,
lay tender leaves of forest dreams,
and birds sing from the canopy,
the welcoming of a brand new spring.
The air is fresh; the rivers rush,
as brittle wind softens their touch,
to guide us through a canyon, to leave us in a field,
lying in the restless grass of a meadow newly healed.
And here we laugh, we grow and thrive.
We are simple, we are pure,
we are young, we are the cure.
The freedom, the pain,
nothing ventured, nothing gained,
a breath inhaled, and love doth grow,
an inner peace sets out hearts aglow.
