We live in grave times indeed.
Perhaps the world is growing too volitile,
Or maybe some of us are still too soft
Too easily offended.
Maybe we are simply messed up kids
And all we want is to see our forms of justice.
We’re kids who still grow up with poisoned words.
Our parents could be the ones teaching the hateful words and messages,
Or maybe the news, or televions, even our own history books.
It could be the social idols that use these words, or our music idols that makes us think these words are okay to say.
Maybe if we spent a little more time teaching our children why we shouldn’t use these messages or these words,
Then we could possibly make the difference.
Many of the ones using these messages and words rebuttle
Saying that they’re using their freedom of speech.
If freedom of speech is what people use to portray their own hate, then call it what it is.
Freedom of hate.
Yes it is okay to believe in something.
Yes you can proclaim your beliefs to the world
But maybe instead of selfishly proclaiming it,
Show a little dignity and be less insensitive.
We can and will fight for what we believe in
But it does not mean that we have to spawn hate.
As a generation in society, we must stand united if we are to ever move forward.
