Anna Yocca is in jail with a $200,000 bond, charged with 1st degree attempted murder. We say NO! Come to her arraignment on Dec 22 to #StandWithAnna.  Demand #FreeAnnaYocca and DROP ALL CHARGES against her.

The state of Tennessee alleges that Anna attempted to use a coat-hanger to self-abort her pregnancy. According to the news, Yocca was 24 weeks pregnant and her alleged self-abortion did not work. When Anna was rushed to the hospital with heavy bleeding, the hospital removed the 24-week fetus and put it on life support, forcing Anna to become a mother against her will.

Anna had a right to terminate her unwanted pregnancy. Whatever the circumstances, she should have been able to access safe and sensitive abortion care. The forces that are waging a war against abortion rights, restricting access, terrorizing clinics and shaming women, THEY are the ones responsible for creating a situation where a woman is desperate enough to risk her own life. The charge against Anna is a serious escalation of this whole war on women.

Fetuses are NOT babies. Women are NOT incubators. Abortion is NOT murder. If women are not free to decide for themselves when or whether to have a child, that is a form of enslavement. And when women are not free, then no one is free.
