Elephantastic #MondayMotivation shot by #wildographer @peterwindrim with @travelswithnina ・・・ Today we met two incredible humans, Doug and Sandi Groves, who have been parenting this magnificent 31-year-old African savannah elephant Jabu for the past 29 years. They rescued Jabu from a culling operation in South Africa, and ever since they have looked after him and his friend Marula with such tenderness and care out in the bush in Botswana, as a little family of four. @peterwindrim and I were lucky enough to spend a couple of hours out walking with Jabu in the bush, observing him and his behaviours, learning about the devastating effect that poaching has had on the elephant population in Africa, and having these precious few moments of cuddles. Jabu was bold and confident, but chilled and mellow too. When I looked into his enormous curious eyes, I felt like I could see the whole universe.
