It's raining and the wind is ruthless
I'm old and cold and tired and useless and toothless
But I'll get by with a little bit of you
Alcohol, tobacco, caffeine
Ephedrine, and orange juice
1/7/21.
Fika Recordings (UK) is one of those labels that keeps putting out great indie pop releases over time. And while I’ve posted about Stanley Brinks and Tigercats in the past, Randolph’s Leap (Glasgow, Scotland) might be my first purchase. This has an almost Dexy’s Midnight Runners or Boots For Dancing feel to it. But really, the voice reminds me of King Creosote. The Bandcamp page states, “Adam Ross may draw comparison with Stephin Merritt or Neil Hannon, while mining the rich Scottish seam of Postcard Records and C86“
It looks like Jigsaw Records distributes much of Fika Recordings’ catalogue.
