When the premise is “we made a machine that solves hunger, starvation and scarcity”, and you respond to that with “yeah but it’s bad”???? lazy writing. where is your yes-and? where is your creativity?
Tell me why people still cook and eat at restaurants when replicated food is objectively fine.
What kind of person chooses to cook when they don’t have to? What does that say about their character and backstory? Who chooses to make that their whole life by opening a restaurant?
What laws exist about what can and cannot be replicated? What cultures have their foods prioritized or left out because of this?
Do people need micro variety for culinary fulfillment? Is the same type of pizza every day meaningfully different from the same slice of pizza every day?
Why do you go out to eat when you can have the same food much easier and quicker at home? Heck, why do we sometimes do this now?
What cultural niche does the preparation and consumption and sharing of food satisfy that goes beyond the food itself?
You can still tell interesting stories with this!!! And replicators don’t have to be ineffably bad!!!
