So, I installed Maple 32 mod the other day because I'm struggling finishing my Galactic Protectorate building and wanted a diversion (there's only so much farming I can do) and I have to say - I absolutely love it!
It feels like a more seamless fit than Elithian Races, and more like - as other games call it - New Game+, which is usually where you're playing the same game again but everything's a bit more challenging.
The main thing I love is the illnesses, which sounds weird, but it makes it feel more like real. Like, one gets sick, one really should just fucking stay at home and recover if one doesn't have the cure, or one can tough it out and suffer more.
It makes me think of Mio and Fife (medic) having a Star Trek-esque Kirk and Bones interaction, like: "Captain, you've got a weird alien disease. You need to rest. Xictli can deal with your admin duties." "No. You need more info to make the cure. I'm going back planet-side to see if the locals can help." "Goddamnit, Mio!"
