Valley Valentines Calendar!

Get ready for two weeks of lovely prompts! This is designed to be a low stress, casual event- take it easy, have some fun! February 2nd - 6th; The Valley Valentines party is coming up, you should make some valentines to pass out! What does the card you make look like? Is it really a card at all? Is there flare, effects, and glitter? Is it shorter, sweeter, more personal? Show us or tell us all about what it is, and how your farmer made it! Were they excited, nervous?  February 6th - 10th; Sweets, sweets, SWEETS! Another excellent part of Valentines day are the treats! Do you prefer chocolate or cookies? Do you like sugary treats or perhaps more savory? Are you skipping out on the candies and going straight for the flowers? What does you farmer prefer, and are they preparing any gifts? February 10th - 14th; Another great part of Valentines day is the quality time you spend with someone you care about! Are you more about someone special, a date somewhere romantic that means a lot to someone you care about? Or are you perhaps going to treat your friends for valentines day? It’s better with a crowd! Perhaps you like to focus on yourself, and you’re going to spend the day with some self love. Show and or tell us all about it!  February 14th+; The Valley Valentines Party is here! Using the Valentines and treats you’ve drawn/described in your first prompts, it’s time to reach out and share some love to your friends in the valley! Make a little post, @ a friend, and make them feel loved. The mods will hand out a very small list of people we would like you to make sure you send one to, in an effort to make sure everyone is included and give people a chance to meet new farmers- other than that, however, you can go wild! There’s no time limit on these posts, just be friendly! And remember, this is a SAFE FOR WORK event!

💘                        She hasn’t participated in a valentine’s day event since primary school - as immature as it feels, it’s still exciting! The cards Cherry have made are simple, lettered in recycled paper with little red wax seals. She’s made a card for everyone she’s met so far in the valley and has written a small thanks for being her acquaintance/friend!  There might be a special card in there for someone special - but who knows 👀

'I couldn't see myself gifting a card to Em, if only for the lack of sustainability, and also, sewing! Is nice! And the colours and soft fabric? Longlasting gifts are just so cool and special. This way, she can enjoy it even when she grows older and her sight gets weaker. I don't know, I've got the means to spoil my wife I'm not gonna hold back.'

💖 valley valentines prompt 1 💖

Mona had never been the type to celebrate Valentine's Day. Of course she had partaken in the class celebrations during elementary school, and she vaguely remembered a few people giving her cards during her high school years, but other than that she had never given much thought to the holiday. Her father had been relatively single her whole life and he never took much interest in the holiday either, so she assumed that trait just rubbed off on her. But this time it was different. 

Mona had been living in the valley for nearly a year now and had met so many wonderful people. She had realized that her lack of interest in Valentine's day was simply because she had no one she wished to celebrate it with. Even during her relationship with Lee, he never mentioned the holiday, so she ignored it as well. But now Mona had so many people she cared for and she wanted to show her gratitude by giving them a card. She knew it was simple, nothing compared the extravagant Christmas gifts she gave out, but the letters had a special place in her heart. She had tried her best to be more sincere in her letters, writing out how grateful she was for the individual bonds she had made with these people, and how she wished to continue cherishing their relationships. Every card looked the same, a small white card with a lacy looking pattern on the sides and glitter sparkled all over the paper. Mona had, shamefully, purchased them at Joja for a relatively cheap price but she really admired the design. Inside each card was a personal message, written in Mona's prim and perfect handwriting with a pink pen. She had also taken the time to put every card in an envelope with a color that reminded her of the person receiving. Blue for Ainsley, purple for Delaney, orange for Marm, yellow for Clark, green for Robin, and of course red for Red. Those weren't the only people receiving cards from Mona though, she had actually created quite a stack of cards by the time she was done. Some of the letters had been a tad difficult for her to write, as she struggled to truly express the fondness she had come to feel for some of the residents here, while others were more friendly and platonic. But Mona was content with her work and overall excited to hand them out to her fellow farmers and let them know how grateful she is for everything they've done for her.

💖💖💖 Valley Valentines, prompt 2~! 💖💖💖

While it is true that none of my farmers is the best at baking, years of being sugar fiends has lead them to perfecting the arts of cookies and brownies!

Derek prepared heart-shaped brownies with dulce de leche on the middle, small enough to be eaten in one single bite! He’s always loved sweet confections, specially those with caramel or sugary fruits, but he’d be happy to receive any sort of sweets from anyone, seeing as he’s never gotten any before! 

Red, on the other hand, made some simple vanilla cookies with a lemon-sugar based glaze! Put some sprinkles on these bad boys, and boom! Red adores sour candies, so it’s no surprise that they love the combination of sweet and sour flavours! They might have eaten a couple of their cookies, but don’t worry! They made enough just in case, and wrapped them in little paper bags!

For an extra treat, the two cousins also put aside some chocolate dipped strawberries, Derek using white chocolate while Red went for the darker variation. All in all, these two are ready to give out some sweets this Valentines Day!
