hey!

what is a very unpopular band you’re into? tell a little bit about them

oh boy there are a lot uh,, the first that comes to mind is Mohinder! It formed in 1993 in Cupertino, CA (& broke up in 1994) & was an important feature of the hardcore punk scene. They only released 7 EPs before breaking up (which are compiled on Everything), but they helped define what’s now known as screamo. Their music is just really chaotic & it makes basically no sense, but it’s great. I really like the bass lines in their music in particular. The Static Cult is my favourite song by them, closely followed by To Satisfy.

of course!! here are some fun little tidbits <3

he has five siblings

he technically doesn’t meet the cut-off height for being on a Human-designed ship (which is 7′0) but he put in a special request and got approved :)

he has three degrees!! alien language & communication, cosmical literature, and human art history

he was a TA at the academy

he is a semi-aquatic otnean, though he didn’t step on land until he was a teenager

this is my mc, alister!! or alise for short. he’s basically a cooler and male version of myself lmao i’m gonna project very hard onto him :)) he’s very chaotic and might seem like he has no idea what’s going on most of the time but he’s actually very smart and competent. usually very upbeat and optimistic, loves his crew a lot and considers them his family, and generally pretty confident (except he gets very nervous and flustered around a certain fishman, oh golly i wonder why) he’s also quite clumsy and he loves to paint!!
