and about why I’m bummed out with the fandom… it’s a lot of things, but it all goes back to the show. I miss when the show was just an adaptation we looked forward to out of love for the books. (not talking about show-watchers only here) but now? it feels like the show and books are treated on the same playing field, even when I read meta :/ Idk maybe I’m being a snobby purist, but it’s made discussion and speculation a lot more difficult

yes lmao that was the lowest point yet; I also remember the frenzy the “12 days of christmas” posts generated when it was just... grrm making a christmas countdown lol

I feel like the handling of dorne in general and the absence of stoneheart made relations between book readers and the show a bit tense but ultimately sansa in season 5 was the last straw to a lot of them. I could go on and on about D&D but I think it’s not necessary since it’s already been said hundreds of times. I’m just glad they don’t want to produce a spin-off. Let someone who truly knows what they’re doing take the job.

I admit I enjoy some episodes/moments, but it’s difficult to forget the bad parts.

Honestly I don't really get slytherin Sansa, at least for now. I can't see those qualities the hp wikia lists applying to her - I wouldn't consider her particularly ambitious, shrewd, or cunning. She's definitely adopting those qualities under LF's mentoring, but it's a conscious effort and the result of her rejecting some of her other qualities (her idealism, for one). The way she views the world and how it should be screams gryffindor and ravenclaw to me

the arguments i’d seen for it that i thought were good were traditionalism and self-preservation which i think are very there.  but i still stick it secondary to gryffindor for her in all honesty because of the way she prioritizes.

yes--and i like it also because to me it fits in so well with the way she is aware of herself as a person vs viewing herself as almost a fictional character in her own life at times.  and i can see (and even support--i have 3 conflicting opinions lol) the argument that that as a structure is a very ravenclaw structure except that i do think that it’s as much about prioritization as it is about what manifests.

and bc it’s sansa and prioritization and what manifests are so often at odds with one another more broadly throughout her entire arc it just gets so analyzing sansa’s head fast u feel me?

i legitimately honestly do not understand ship names.  i do not.  the only time i see them is if it’s something pithy/obvious (like sansan) but for everything else i just go please just use their names.

And besides Jon identifies as a Stark, I doubt his parentage is going to change that. Tbh I can see him getting upset and trying to reject the idea of being a Targ

Right???? I also agree he’s going to reject his Targ side, particularly given the circumstances under which he was born. Whether he’s fed the story that they were in love or that Rhaegar kidnapped Lyanna, he’s still going to have to deal with the horrible idea that he was the result of an event that started a war (that would kill his half-siblings, too).
