It is with a very heavy heart that I share with you the passing of my sweet Arya-Rat earlier this morning.
When I came back from Poland, Arya-Rat had gone from seeming perfectly fine, though showing a few signs of aging, to seeming ancient. It makes sense since she was 2.5 years old, which is about how long you can expect. I’ve been lucky enough to have many rats live to 3 and sometimes a little beyond, but such was not the case with Arya-Rat but every minute was SO worth it ❤️
The last time I had rats I was eighteen years old and it hurt so much to lose them that I didn’t think I could ever have them again. But having subsequently not had rats for four years and then having them again, I can say that the joy Arya-Rat brought me was infinitely worth the pain of saying goodbye.
I’m glad to have had the time with her I did and am excited to share all the love in my heart with many more little ratties throughout my much longer lifespan.
Meanwhile, I’m gonna continue giving so much love to Sansa-Rat, hang out with my amazing family, and read the copy of “Outlander” provided to me by Rachel, who was always a wonderful friend to them and (still is) to me.
Feel free to use this opportunity to comfort me by saying super nice things to me 😜
