dragon child by miss_universe (2,135 words, last updated 24 Oct 2019)
Summary: Brienne of Tarth never thought she was special, and if she was, it was in the worst meaning of the word. She still believed that — up until she found a golden egg nestled onto the beaches of Tarth. (2,135 words, last updated 24 Oct 2019)
Things I love: LIONHEART SHE NAMES HER DRAGON LIONHEART AND HE IS THE SWEETEST COMPANION. Brienne brave and determined to protect her dragon, her father, her king, her kingdom. Jaime dreaming of Brienne on Lionheart with a flaming sword (before they’ve ever met, a nice twist on his book canon weirwood dream).
A Better Man by Diary (4,510 words, last updated 26 May 2017)
Summary: AU. A look at if Tywin had been a better Father.
Things I love: Shae and Brienne’s friendship, something I never would have thought to want but I now I am desperate to read more. Jaime’s sharp-edged words even when he’s pleased. Shae’s protective nature toward the Tarths, particularly Brienne. Brienne wearing Shae’s favour as she fights. Shae and Brienne above all else, though there are many things to like.
Light in Your Bright Blue Eyes by StarkWolf (28,423 words, last updated 26 June 2020)
Summary: Vignettes. Moments. Epiphanies.
A crowded collage of the most sublime yet complicated love story in Game of Thrones. One Part of Endgame. Picks up from where Jaime leaves for Winterfell after S7.
Things I love: Jaime and Tyrion being as vicious as they are loving toward each other, Brienne’s friendships with Sansa and Arya, Jon’s respect for Brienne as a warrior, Jaime’s pining, Brienne’s pining, Winterfell caught between wars.
Come Back to Me by CaliGirl90278 (13,688 words, last updated 6 July 2021)
Summary: She was sure the answers were within her--it was just sorting through what problem to solve first. She would need help, and protection. She did not know the loyalties of those within this ruined fortress, or how they might have changed, based on what had occured today.
As she pondered this, she saw a man with the most astonishingly red hair walking by her. He did not approach or look at her directly, but his eyes stared very intently at her, as she looked carefully at him through her lashes, while she was turned toward Lady Sansa and murmuring comfortingly into her hair. I never thought to see someone else's hair even more kissed by fire than Sansa's, she thought.
Brienne gasped. Addam Marbrand.
Things I love: Fanworks of fanworks, this building on the excellent world janie_tangerine built in I’ve always loved you and I love you still. all the political intrigue, Damon Marbrand’s respect for Selwyn Tarth, Addam and Jaime’s friendship, Arya and the Hound and the Blackfish, how much Shae loves Sansa, Shae and Brienne’s growing friendship, Varys and Tyrion teaming up, Margaery being beautifully political and intelligent and driven and also loving Sansa.
May It Be by sweet_osmanthus (25,671 words, last updated 26 Sep 2021)
Summary: May it be an evening star Shines down upon you May it be when darkness falls Your heart will be true You walk a lonely road Oh, how far you are from home -May It Be, Enya
Things I love: Jaime getting Selwyn Tarth to go north to help fight (WHY DOES HE STAY ON HIS ISLAND, THIS WILL NEVER NOT BOTHER ME), the way Sansa and Brienne talk to each other about trust and family (even though I disagree that Brienne is too trusting; she’s pretty constantly looking for betrayal), Addam and Selwyn’s growing friendship, what remains of the Stormlands joining the war against the dead (why in the world didn’t they try this in the show? I know, poor writing, but all that talk about the kingdoms and houses coming together but they left out a number of potential houses, even if low on fighters thanks to the previous wars).
