I'm back on that short haired Jean agenda.

I love to see all the fluffy haired Jeans coursing around, but for me he just doesn't look like that. He's had his hair yanked out in clumps, has been probaly held down by it, yanked around by it. So, I think one of the ways he gains a bit of control over himself and his body is by keeping his hair short enough so nobody can properly hold onto it, let alone pull it hard enough that chunks get torn out.

He says he is vain enough that the bald patches it left behind bother him, but i don't think he would go see a hair dresser about it, because letting a stranger touch a part of your body that is connected to a lot of trauma? I don't think he would let that happen.

Cat even pointed out that Jean's hair looks uneven, and she assumes it is like that because he cut it himself. I think he let the patches grow and tried to cut the rest down to the same length, so it doesn't look as obvious as just leaving the rest longer. So I think his hair is quite short, around the lenght hair takes to grow when it regrows for like 2-3 months and the rest of his hair is cut accordingly.

So, besides having short hair being a bit of a self-protective thing, I think, it's also just something that makes sense, because otherwise it would just be SO patchy?

Let’s do some (head) canons for my boy David!

He is 29 and from a noble family. He was meant to marry and have children to continue his family name. But he wasn’t really fond of that idea, so he left his hometown. 

He is curently working as a kind of a bodyguard to hire. He gets paid for escorting and protecting people, mostly hired by merchants and travels a lot because of this. He has lots of scars from his job already and he wears them proudly.

I was thinking about making him actually illiterate, but that doesn’t fit in with his background, so I quickly scratched that idea. 

His entire back is tattooed and it reaches down over his ass to his thighs because it just seems like a David thing to do. 

Talking about tattoos, I’m thinking about him getting a magical tattoo later on into the story. It seems really cool and I also like to imagine David just wanting to become stronger to protect people better.

He is a really gruff dude and can take things the wrong way, but if he opens up to you and you become friends, he will literally die for you. That happens slowly over the Campaign to Laurie and Quentin (and Cheryl later on )especially. I also feel like he would kill for Claude.

David prefers to fight with his fists, but also knows how to fight with an axe and a dagger. I think he could profit off of magical bracers or something, so he can do more damage with his fists. 

David likes to charge into battle, asking questions later, which isn’t a good idea all the time. I feel like both Laurie and Quentin become kind of his impulse control while they travel and they have their way on talking him out of his reckless behaviours. Most of the time.

Headcanons for Zarina?

So Zarina is a character I still have trouble to characterize properly, because she hasn’t been out for too long. 

She is 36 in the AU and I feel like she has some tiefling blood in her, to give her the mixed tradition background b etter bound into the dnd universe (if that makes sense lmao)

Because she is a documentarian in canon and there is no such thing in the AU I thougt she would just do published research as well as work for the paper in her town/has her own kind of magazine where she shares news and discoveries she made, mostly connected to people, injustices and corruption.

She and Jane know each other for a long time, they are really good friends and tend to travel together. They are both really interested in researching/investigating people. They work really well together and trust each other with their life.

Zarina has just a little bit of magic she can use, just the basics which help her with her research.

I think she would get along great with Jeff, Tapp and Steve, because they are all really into protecting people. 

She is really calm and collected and likes to strategize before doing anything. Her plans are really well executed and succeed like 85% of the time. 

Zarina isn’t really the biggest fan of fighting, but knows how to hold her ground. She mainly uses a crossbow and has a short swort on her, just in case she is forced into hand-to-hand combat.
