I Don't Belong Here (kay&curtis)
Assault and Disruption of the Public, the paper read. Sentence: Community service, fourteen days. Kay wanted so badly to crumple to paper in her hands, rip it to shreds and maybe burn it for good measure. Her cheeks burned in shame as she zipped up the orange jumpsuit, careful to avoid curious eyes of the other 'delinquents' around her.
With a sigh, she shut her locker with a bit more force than necessary. She didn't even know what she was going to do--who she was supposed to report to, if at all. She was lost, and it was all that storm's fault. Her eyes flicked up to a young man who looked not much older than herself. "Excuse me," she said, her voice quiet and unsure. "What, uh, what are we supposed to do?"
