With speculation for the second season of The Owl House coming we thought we could weigh in on the matter and talk about our upcoming predictions or at least what we want to see. It has been a rare treat to see such a fun and inclusive program come out of a Disney production. None of us here will deny the claim that we've had a great prejudice against Disney for a long time as a great deal of their programming seems to have absolutely no substance or anything worth Wild. There have been a few exceptions but they've been rare so let's just talk about the owl house for now.
What do we want to see coming in season 2?
Greater steaks as time goes on. In the season finale we see Luz give up her way home and order to stop the emperor from having his way. Instead of picking up the story within only a few days to a few weeks there could be a greater stretch of time between season 1 and season 2 we get to see how the characters changed both in situation, personality and ascetics giving the showrunners a chance to tweets the character concepts and introduced a few sub plots already underway.
Have the relationship between Amity and luz already established from the first episode. One of the things that was equally surprising and loved was the establishment of amity's crush on Luz as season 1 progressed. We felt this is done extremely well with some room for improvement but still done extremely well.
The reintroduction of wild magic and hints of rebellion. With Eda powerless and Lilah only half strength what Luz has learned could tip the balance in their favor. Studying ancient techniques of wild Magic could help other witches that had already joined a coven and had their magic sealed. In many fantasies in Fairytales magic always relies on a concept of literal interpretation so there are always loopholes and workarounds to exploit.
Let it show grow with the audience but keep the fun and downplay the dark. Some of the most successful long-running series have always had a sort of growth pattern with its target audience. Simply put if the target audience is in the age range of the main character and the main character starts out around 12 to 14 each new season that comes along that character has to aged a year older and both the stories and situations should also age with that character. Although this could be a good thing if done right the second most important thing is to downplay any mature subject matter, drama or situation that might present itself to an older audience. Keeping the fun that made the show so popular in the first place.
In truth we don't have a lot to say about the owl house maybe a few things that we would have done differently as far as Story and character but overall it's been extremely enjoyable creation and we hope to see a lot more of it hopefully breaking the Disney tradition of limiting the episode of run or the premature cancellation of something good.
