6.  what do they normally dream about? nightmares or nonsense?

ella’s dreams are kind of all over the place. there are a lot of dreams she doesn’t remember, a lot of good dreams, but also a lot of bad ones. nightmares really come into play once she’s away from her stepmother for a good period of time. her most recurring dreams usually involve madame, waking up in fear that she’s back in that house or that in someway or another, she’s going to try and take away the new good things she has in her life.

these nightmares are the ones that are physically and mentally draining for her. when she wakes up, it renders her unable to fall back asleep again. lots of times she’ll get up and clean or read/re-read a book to try and clear her head before it’s time for her to really get up and go about her day. for a long time, she has those dreams just about every night, but as she begins to grow away from her old life, they become fewer and further between.
