On a whim, I watched the Tri films for the first time last summer, and in so doing discovered the existence of Last Evolution Kizuna and the then-upcoming 02: The Beginning. I was never big into Digimon growing up, but it was a part of my childhood nonetheless (Ken's story especially had a huge impact on me as a kid). Thus I rewatched the first two seasons subbed in order to prepare for the final sequel movies, gaining a better appreciation for the series as a whole in the process. While 02 still holds the most special place in my heart, I thought Kizuna was a lovely send-off to the OG crew, and quickly made this tribute in four days after watching the film lol. Waited until now to post (after finally seeing 02TB too since I sadly didn't get to in theaters) as a commemoration for Odaiba Day. Farewell, old friends - you are, and always will be: Champions of the Digital World~

This is a remake of an old video from... 16 years ago?  Man, time flies.  It is largely unchanged from the original version for the most part, aside from tightening up the timing a bit and adding/shuffling a few scenes here and there, and as such (mostly) only contains OP footage up to the start of the Diamond & Pearl saga.  I stopped watching the show around that time (or rather towards the end of the Hoenn arc when the voice actors changed since it just wasn't the same for me), but the series will always hold a special place in my heart.<3 Thanks for all the memories, Ash and Pikachu. ^^ So long, buds~

It's been a month since AoC was released.  Some post-game thoughts below (spoiler warning):

While the story can be considered contentious for many reasons, after thinking on it, I've come to the conclusion that this *was* a well deserved ending - or rather potential outcome.  It is the culmination of all of Zelda's personal efforts and hard work that didn't get to fully bear fruit in the main timeline, if only she had been permitted to pursue her passion for research and relics.  Here, everyone's survival and happiness - including her father's - is a direct result of her ingenuity in crafting Terrako as a child.  BotW had hinted that Zelda's knowledge of ancient technology might have proven key to total victory 100 years ago had she been allowed to nurture it (along with her sealing power), and AoC now provides canon confirmation that it is the case.  ...And I can gladly accept that.

TL;DR Techie nerd Zelda is valid and AoC shows how following one's heart and dreams (preferably with parental love/support as extra encouragement) can make all the difference thanks for coming to my TED Talk

P.S. On a side-note, I do have a BotW video I plan to upload at some point, but would like to wait for more info on the sequel - whenever that will be. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (I was also hoping to find some of the early cutscenes unsubbed - not just the memories, but including the introduction sequence and King Rhoam's story - but I ended up cropping a clip for this video anyway so there goes consistency. ^^; *shrug* Still, if anyone knows where I can get *all* the BotW cutscenes without subtitles I'd appreciate it.)

Happy Zelda 35th Anniversary.

I've been sitting on this video for about a year, having finished it last spring but was too late for BotW's anniversary.  I finally got to play the game itself in 2019 shortly after the sequel announcement when I got a Switch at last.  Having also played Nier Automata the previous year, I felt many of the themes were similar regarding the fight against "fate" and to find one's own meaning and purpose.  I love that BotW addressed many of my issues with the lore introduced in Skyward Sword, and showcased Zelda's struggles to live up to her "destiny" (even moreso in Age of Calamity).  While I never cared much for the character before, this is now my favorite incarnation of her.  Her story was really relatable, and I hope she and Link eventually find peace and happiness.  (Perhaps, Ganondorf as well...)

My first and probably last Steven Universe AMV.  While I wasn’t as deeply invested in the series as some (at least until the later years), it was a sweet little show and I’m sad that it’s over.  The story had its flaws, but throughout all its ups and downs I commend the writers for the great strides they made in children’s television programming and the impact it had on so many people.  After all, if every pork chop were perfect, then we wouldn’t have hot dogs, right? In the end, SU was all about love - loving others, but above all learning to love oneself - and I can’t fault it for that. <3
