Take Action!

My lovely readers, thanks for returning back for our very last interaction. I have had a great few weeks discussing the topic of youth homelessness and their victimization. I was able to explain what youth homelessness is, what the current situation is like in Canada and Toronto, factors that influence the situation and current or potential actions.

In this post, I wanted to tell you how you could make a difference and take action yourself. Wait, so this means we have a responsibility? Yes! As society we have a responsibility to ensure equal rights for everyone. We must constantly challenge stereotypes and perceptions that we may have. There is no one on this planet that is not worthy of our respect, unless they lose it AFTER receiving it. Now that is a different story.  It is necessary for all of us to understand that not all homeless youth are criminals and that many of them are like you, and me. It is absolutely necessary to challenge our perceptions of homeless individuals, especially the youth who have their lives fast forwarded. Signing petitions, joining organizations and fundraising are all ways to get involved. We have more power than we think, let’s start a movement!

I think it's time to arm ourselves with the document that is supposed to protect us from the kinds of orders Trump is now using against us. I think we all need copies. You can download free copies to your iPhone here: http://thefederalistpapers.integratedmarket.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/The-Constitution-of-the-United-States-of-America.pdf. But I think a new protest movement must begin. We need to purchase copies and send them to the White House and Trump Tower. If you're near a Trump business, drop copies off there. Mail them to any Trump resort or hotel. Not just because it will send a message, but because someone may pick it up and read it. No, not the Kremlin Kontrolled Karrot. But one of his poor, immigrant employees might. One of his harassed maids might. One of his underpaid staff or maybe the goons who produce his echo chamber. We can't stand idly by and just let him trample all over what our nation has stood for for hundreds of years. Send a copy. Buy a cheaper one or print out a free one if you must. I choose to send this one to also help support the ACLU. DO SOMETHING!
