Summary: Blaine is next in line to be king and he needs to marry. Homosexuality is comletely accepted, the only problem is that it is necessary for there to be heirs. So if a prince wishes to marry a man, it has to be someone with a bp and those are kind of rare. So Blaine's parents throw a ball and advertise that any male that is between the ages of 16-18 and is able to get pregnant is welcome to come along with their parents.
Burt is really poor which is the only reason he takes Kurt to the party. Kurt wants to marry out of love, and as much as Burt wants that for Kurt, he's afraid that they'll be without a home soon and Kurt will starve to death. At least if Kurt marries Blaine then he'll know Kurt is well taken care of.
When Blaine first sees Kurt he is immediately infatuated.
