Prompt: I was wondering if you could write me an mpreg!kurt oneshot that takes place in s6 (but it's in nyc still and there's no klaine breakup). Kurt is pregnant with twins and he and Blaine are planning for their wedding, which is in November--two months after Kurt is supposed to have the babies. He goes into labor while they're out shopping for baby clothes.
“I’m a whale.” Kurt groaned, pouting into the full length mirror, hand smoothing over his bump. The store lights weren’t helping, downlight highlighting the dark circles under his eyes. Baby had been keeping him up.
Blaine wrapped his arms around his middle from behind and smiled dreamily at him through the glass. “You’re a very sexy pumpkin.”
Kurt swatted him. “You’re mean.”
Blaine laughed and pulled him round to face him. “I mean it. You look beautiful and besides you drop weight like nothing you’ll be toned again by the time you walk down the aisle. Now let’s focus on shopping. How many bowties am I allowed?”
He beamed and Kurt’s serious face split into smile. “Hmm you cant repeat a colour just because it’s a different shade .”
Blaine made a whiny noise like a kicked puppy but nodded.
“Ow!” Kurt hissed as he reached for shorts and braces combo. He doubled over, hair falling into his eyes and took a deep breath. Blaine swooped in and caressed his lower back, sweeping the hair from his eyes into his quiff.
“Hey!” his voice was soft. “What is it? Are you good?”
“Y-yeah I think…maybe they’re just stretching?”
Blaine looked wary but nodded. “Yeah…maybe, do you need a seat? I can call the shop assistant over?”
Kurt shook his head. “Oh... no I’ll be fine…”
They shopped for five minutes…Kurt struggling a little. Then he hissed again, dropping a poofy little dress.
Blaine put down the little shoes he was cooing at.
“How long have they been happening?” he asked calmly, voice low. He cupped Kurt’s cheek.
“A-all morning…”
Blaine paused and then he swept the man off his feet making Kurt yelp. They abandoned their shopping basket as Blaine carried him outside bridal style.
“Blaine! Stop! I’m too heavy!”
“We’re taking you to the delivery room. They’ve been getting more frequent yeah?”
“Y-yes but…”
“No buts, Im not chancing anything. Taxi! TAXI!”
The yellow cab screeched to a halt when Blaine screamed at it. And he carried his fiancé into the back.
“Blaine you’re being-“ he cut off and went white he looked down between his legs where his waters were breaking.
“I’m being what?” he quirked his brow and he finished his instructions to driver. Then he caught the pool on the floor
“Blaine…Shit I’m early… they’re too early.”
The driver took off through the city as Blaine held his head to his shoulder. “Shh. They’ll be okay…you’re fine I’ll just message Rachel and we’ll get you to the delivery suite and everything will be fine…”
Kurt only half believed him, pessimist as he was but he nodded. Blaine was a sponge for positivity. When he was in his life, no matter what happened to him, he would always be okay..when Blaine was gone he’d take all the sunshine with him and Kurt grew colder and colder and withered.
He’d be okay with Blaine at his side. He’d be okay. He took deep breaths and inhaled Blaine’s scent. He remembered the day after he left for New York on his own. All his clothes still smelling of Blaine, he wore Blaine’s t-shirt every night and he only slept imagining him wrapped around him. Sometimes they’d plug in their laptops and keep on skype till the morning. He’d watch Blaine sleep listen to his even breaths and be soothed into slumber.
But it was nothing compared to his warmth, his touch.
And the babies loved it too. Blaine’s fingers over the steep curve of his stomach, made their little legs go wild inside him.
Now relaxed and breathing deep against him, Kurt whispered against his neck. “They cant wait to meet their Daddy…”
Blaine looked down at him touched as the city lights moved over his cheek.
“I hope so...” he teared up a little and looked out into the city scape trying to breathe. “I hope I’m a good daddy for them…”
Kurt turned his face back and kissed him. “You’ll be perfect.”
Blaine’s phone buzzed. He looked down and laughed. “Rachel’s panicking more than we are.”
“Ugh…keep her away from me, she’ll be monologing non stop.”
Blaine laughed and pulled him into his neck again as another contraction came.
“I’ll keep you safe sweetheart.”
