Secrets | Eve and Tristan
The past week had been arduous, to say the least – starting with a resolving a fight between Eve and her best friend, and ending with one of the closest people to her being put into hospital. Needless to say, the days in between these events had been filled with skipping school and an impromptu beach party that she had managed to organize and somehow convince most of the school to attend. The fact that she had only attended school two out of five days that week amused the girl slightly, although this really wasn’t a shock to anyone, more of a bad habit that Eve had fallen into, routinely and regularly missing days of school just because she had no motivation to attend. However, Friday wasn’t one of these days, mainly because Eve was looking for any way possible to make the day pass by faster, simply so that she could get around to going out that night, like she had planned, and the fact that she barely knew the boy she had planned on taking out barely fazed her, as she was just anxious for a night out with nothing to worry or care about.
Eve spent a good amount of time getting ready, paying careful attention to the numbers on her alarm clock as they steadily climbed, and as she did so, she sent Tristan a text, confirming with him the address of the street that he was to meet her on. Admittedly, Eve was curious about the boy that she had so willingly invited to come out that night, bribing him with the promise of introducing him to a side of partying that he was unlikely to have ever experienced before – but she wasn’t one to make assumptions, instead just deciding to go with the flow of the evening, and if he wasn’t comfortable with her chosen destination then they would go somewhere else. Once she had decided on an outfit that consisted of one of her trademark short yet tight-fitting dresses accompanied with her favorite heels, Eve grabbed her purse and jacket, sending Tristan a text to tell him that she was leaving, as she said her goodbyes to her younger brother with the hopeful promise that she would be back later, before slipping out of the front door to her apartment and into the cool October air.
The walk into town was a short one, considering the close proximity of her apartment and one of Asheville’s busiest streets, which on a Friday night was usually buzzing with the noises of drunken crowds of people that were eager to wash away their woes of the week with whatever liquor they could lay their hands on. Eve let a slight smile take control of her features as she weaved her way between each of the crowds effortlessly, her height and slender figure making it easy to do so, as she headed towards the corner that she had planned to meet Tristan at. Once she arrived, she glanced around, her eyes searching for him in the crowds to no avail, so she quickly figured that she had gotten there first. Taking the incentive to lean herself against a nearby wall, she distracted herself from the glances that were being thrown her way by playing absentmindedly with her phone, whilst she waited for Tristan.
