I endevored to read something out of my norm of typical fantasy/scifi and picked something a little close to home. I live about 20 min down the road from Olalla, Washington and this little beauty has been on my tbr list for quite some time.
Needless to say it was immensly disturbing.
It follows the true story of 2 british heiress' as they get ensnared into a deadly trap of "natural cure for fasting" via Linda Hazzard who runs a fasting sanitrium in the PNW. The dark story unfolds as one sister dies and the other seeks vengence. Dubbed "Starvation Heights" the place still exsists today as a haunted messiah for the paranormal. Rumor has it Hazzard killed over 40 people and stole their fortunes.
Needless to say this is on my list of places to never visit.
A must read for the occult, anyone with a darkside and those seeking truth in the shadows of history.
