A day late valentines post...
Stupid ocs of mine and @foddercaptain 's
Um, uh, um—
GUYS, AFTER CHRISTMAS SHOULD I POST SOME ART AND STUFF ABOUT MY CHARACTERS FROM MY ORIGINAL WORKS???
YES!!!
Yeah sure
Eh, maybe
Nah. Wait until later (whenever that is)
MAKE MORE FANART GODAMMIT (don’t worry I’ll keep making fanart too lol)
Oh yeah here are some doodles of my D&D characters.
~~~~~
Luminary Macaroni, the Chaotic Neutral elf wizard, was my first one.
She was snarky and greedy and obnoxious to most of the party, but REALLY fun to play as for some reason XD
One of her signature spells was transforming people into seahorses because I thought the sheer absurdity was funny. (Tbh I don’t think I was even supposed to have that spell, I’m pretty sure there was some sort of misinterpretation on either my part or the DM’s, but it was so hilarious that I honestly don’t care LOL)
Also, she was infamous among several notable magic schools and libraries for stealing valuable books and artifacts. She just quit magic school because it was boring to her and ran off with a bunch of their stuff 💀
Sadly, her cockiness and insistence on being s contrarian got her killed when the party split up over a petty disagreement and a character the DM controlled betrayed everyone. My siblings and I lost that campaign miserably 💀 (though to be fair it was our first one, and we had accidentally rushed off to an area that was too high-level for us at the time)
It was such a blast though, and there were so many crazy things that happened that I’ll never forget XD
~~~~~
Zenaku Ukiyo, the Lawful Evil variant aasimar paladin, is my character for our current campaign (which has been running for quite a while and we keep forgetting to meet with the DM for sessions lol).
He starkly contrasts with Macaroni, because I wanted to play a character who was completely different. He’s reserved and calculating, and also was literally living in an alleyway with rats before he joined the party?? 😭
He has some sort of mysterious criminal background that hasn’t been explored in the campaign yet.
Anyway, this campaign has been really fun so far too, but definitely not over yet. Zenaku is starting to warm up a little bit to the other people in his party though.

These drawings aren’t my best, but they’re currently the only ones I have of these characters. I should really draw them again!
When the character is a girl who builds and or fixes robots:
Uhhhh happy Ace Week I guess!!
Unfortunately I did not plan ahead and had nothing too interesting to post, but I wanted to show solidarity for my fellow aces lol. So here’s a meme I made ages ago about one of my main OCs who nobody here has even seen a picture of yet 😅
(Many of my OCs are ace-spec, but I always think of Azure first)
It’ll still be a hot minute before I start posting a bunch about my OCs, but I’m already thinking about how to go about it.
For instance, one of my biggest problems is I’m not sure how much to share. These characters are all going to be part of a few different book series in the future, so I don’t want to spoil the books before I even publish them.
But I also draw a lot of stuff that would be spoilers, and I do a lot of character development for later arcs. I guess I should just avoid talking about that? Which is tricky because I like being able to gush about any given story thing related to my OCs.
It’s frustrating. I’m not sure exactly what to do. I’ll still share at least something though, because these little guys are basically my whole reason for living.
(Ugly watermark moment again lol)
Some abstract art of three of my OCs from my Primary Experiment (writing project). I randomly made these earlier this year with an old art set I had lying around. It was another exercise to combat my perfectionism, and it worked well. It was fun. I plan to continue doing abstract art every now and again, it’s good for me.
The first was made with markers, the second was made with oil pastels, and the third was made with colored pencils. I didn’t have any plan going in, I just doodled around and did whatever, which was exactly the point to begin with
So I made a weird spontaneous edit. (And wow! I added a much less ugly watermark thing this time.)
This weird rainbow light pillar picture gave me liminal vibes and made me think of how I felt at the bowling alley, and so I decided to use it as an opportunity to edit how I was feeling. The character I decided to draw for this is my OC Gwen, one of the main characters from one of my Experiments (writing projects lol). I won’t go into too much detail on any of my characters or original stories yet because I’m just not quite ready, but suffice to say for now that Gwen is from a writing project of mine which focuses on a group of creative kids as they try to maintain their imagination and childhood whimsy even while growing up.
Gwen is one of the main characters and is a kid who is weird, spunky, impulsive, and generally quite fearless. But there’s a lot more to her than that, and she has some struggles. One of which is that she becomes more anxious as she grows up. Generally, Gwen would be the type of person to love the go-cart racing that was near the minigolf course. But the concept of her getting scared of the go-cart racing like I was, and her subsequent crisis as a result, was an interesting idea that I latched onto for my edit of this picture. Gwen is holding a racing helmet like she was about to go get in one of the little cars but changed her mind and is now internally panicking about it. Growing up is hard, and often comes with unexpected challenges. The text ‘There’s nothing like the feeling of childhood’ entered my brain while I was considering what I wanted to add to the image.
Anyway, I actually made this entire edit with the default Markup tool in the Apple photos editing area (on my iPad) as a way to challenge myself and see how well I could draw with such a simplified program. Considering how it turned out, I’d say I can apparently do that pretty well. It’s certainly not as polished as the digital art I make on Procreate, but it has a certain messy charm to it. I’m quite pleased with the results and even made it my Home Screen for my phone.
Funny thing about this edit is that this finished piece is actually a picture I took of the edit on my iPad screen, not the original edit. Because the original edit got fricken DELETED when I tried to save it. So I had to go back and just finish editing the picture I previously took OF the edit, hence the slant of the screen and more blurry appearance of the image. Weirdly enough I think that all works in its favor though??
There’s something oddly poetic and fitting about the fact that I apparently created something so ephemeral that it tried to delete itself and all I could capture was a memory of it.
Oh yeah, and I found one of the songs that was playing at the minigolf course: Back of the Car by RAC. I added it to my Spotify playlist for Experiment LCM! (placeholder name for the project Gwen is from)
