@inki-drop wanted to draw some of her cute starwhals for a while finally got around to doing so then i decided to try and make them look like they glow hopefully i managed that.

These characters belong to @inki-drop

Starwhals

We are sitting on my sofa laughing,

almost naked, feasting on

chicken pakora and naan.

The light is on, dim, floor littered with

the debris of us - those pieces of ourselves

that I never knew could be cast off

so readily. We are deeply entrenched

in the blanket fort

playing Starwhals on my PlayStation

and apologising every time we break

each other's hearts.

Stealing kisses like collectable stickers

in between moments - I will keep them all,

and safely.

Soon, we grow tired. Turn on Spotify

and "Little Hell" - the first album I ever told you

that I loved, on the morning of the day

the first time you said you loved me.

And we bury ourselves in one another

to the sound of

Silver and Gold and Northern Wind

screaming against the window panes;

I, Fragile Bird and you, Weightless

enough for me to carry...

We Found Each Other In The Dark,

we did. And we kiss and hold and somewhere

other than inside my head

someone sets off fireworks.

And I hold his face, stroke his cheek with my palm

I smile and say, "How fortuitous!".

And we laugh. We laugh,

then we return to digging.
