I’m rereading the first chapter of Shuriken, and it’s obvious I don’t have an editor, lol. I really need to get better at tracking what I write and how I draft each scene, or else I end up repeating myself or making things unnecessarily wordy. Time to dive in and clean it up, because as it stands, I’m not happy with how it turned out.

I've been reading Peach Momoko's Ultimate X-Men Comic run, and I just love it. Marvel Unlimited only has issue 16 out right now, but so far, I'm enjoying the ride. I believe it's going to end at issue 24, which sucks because I definitely feel like she had more stories to tell with these characters.

I was also trying to explore more of Māori culture, so I can have a better understanding of it, and I can use it to write Herschel better.

In Māori culture, practitioners of sorcery and witchcraft are often referred to as makutu. This term encompasses a wide range of spiritual practices—curses, spells, and rituals—capable of being used for both benevolent and malevolent purposes. Rooted deeply in the Māori worldview, makutu draws on the influence of spiritual forces known as atua, who serve as bridges between mortals, ancestors, and deities.

For Herschel, this connection runs even deeper. I always planned for him to have a second form—something akin to Bruce Banner and the Hulk, or June Moone and the Enchantress. Lore-wise, after the devastating loss of his wife and child at the hands of Blackheart and Mephisto, Herschel sought the strength to face such demons. Desperate and resolute, he made a pact with Whiro, the Māori atua of darkness, evil, and death.

Whiro respected Herschel’s conviction—the sheer will to stain his path with blood in the pursuit of vengeance. The god answered. He drained the blood from Herschel’s body, replacing it with his own essence. The transformation was agonizing, but it forged Herschel into an incredibly powerful warlock. Yet this gift came with a price: Whiro’s influence lingered, granting him a measure of control over Herschel’s body whenever the darkness rose to the surface.

When writing for Herschel and getting him commissioned in the future, I would like to show off more of Whiro's effects on him and more of his demonic and monstrous features.

I had an idea for a character I wanted to include in my Earth-202 universe. So far, I have a design and concept for her, but nothing finalized yet.

I was very much inspired by Kiana Khansmith, Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to be a Magical Girl, Necroko from Extreme Venomverse #4, and Magik, lol.

Yvette Rosewell was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and attends Johns Hopkins University as a forensic science student. Outside her studies, she's an avid cosplayer and fashion designer, creating and selling beautiful clothing and accessories to help pay her way through school.

Her life changes forever when Veloria, the goddess of Love and Compassion, chooses Yvette to become her Herald—a champion tasked with spreading love, compassion, and recognition of the goddess across the world. Though reluctant at first, Yvette agrees and accepts this divine calling.

Now she stands as the Guardian of Hearts. The Protector of Love and Compassion. KUPID, the Herald of Love!

Lol, that's as far as I've gotten with creating with her. Chronologically, her story would take place before Nocturne, but by the time she is introduced in Nocturne, she would have already been a superhero for about two years, still learning, but would be a bit more comfortable.

After dying of laughter from the “relaunch witch” meme

My gears started to turn, they said “go ahead and hit the relaunch button on your story,”

So yeah I decided to go back and rewrite Eclipse entirely. I even changed the name of it to Nocturne. I had a few other things I got planned for it but I’m hyper fixated on it and lore dump on it a bit more when I get off work. 🫩

Now that I think about it, it'll probably be for the best to post my oneshots on here. I originally planned for all my oneshots to be turned into comics, but that might take a while to get them all commissioned. So I'll post them on here, and when they do get drawn, I'll just go ahead and post it again. Nothing's wrong with providing a cute little visual.
