Going home was not a simple matter. And while Lapis could fly, without a warp pad, she was left to journey through space, really only knowing where her home was via the gentle tugging of her heart. Space was lonely. She wanted to be home.
Eventually, she came across space stations, other planets, all teeming with life she could not have pictured before. Lapis did find herself having to land in one of those space stations, anyways. While gems do not necessarily need sleep, they could exhaust themselves. And so, here she was.
The petite alien practically collapsed as she landed on the cold metal of one of the landing ports, unused to being on solid ground after such a long time in space. After a few minutes she was reoriented and managed to get a good look at her surroundings. It was not orderly like gem ports were, and was a bit run down. But nevertheless, she could spot ships landing in their respective sized areas of entry, most likely for fuel or other resources from the unfamiliar station.
Lapis entered through the air-locks, and pushed through one of the shielded doors to enter the inside of the facility, looking for any sort of area that would indicate directions and maps. But the station was full of life, with various species milling about, all with something to do. The gem soon became anxious. She was not used to this much exposure to other beings in such a long time, and stepped off quickly to the side where she was not as easily visible and began slowly making her way through one of the halls. Perhaps she would find assistance eventually.
