Back in June I cast on Parachutey by Stephen West. I finally cast it off in October and finished it up in early November. Still need to take a few photos wearing it all styled and cute. I am obsessed with how it turned out. Not really sure how I ended up with a cropped version, that was unintentional, wrong gauge is my best guess. But I still love how cute it is. The colors are so fun. It has inspired my next cast on, which will be a funky knit vest!

It is Stash Bust 2016!!! I have taken busting my stash very, very seriously. I have had yarn (really nice yarn) sitting around for years waiting to become some project. I have lugged it across the world and it is time to do something about it! My process is going something like this: 1. Stop purchasing yarn. 2. Sort through the stash. If it doesn't spark joy toss it. If there isn't enough for a project toss it. If it is cheap toss it. 3. Plan a project for each pile of yarn. Search Ravelry for patterns. Write a list. Try to be decisive. Use this time to try knitting something you have never made before. 4. Knit! One project at a time. Start with the smaller ones, then move onto bigger. 5. Repeat. I am currently only working with "old" yarn. I also have unfinished projects and "new" yarn to go through this process with. My end goal is to open up room for trying new yarns. As well as be able to keep all my yarn out in the open, so I can see it and be inspired to use it. On top of it all I will have a bunch of unique projects to either sell or give as gifts. The fair isle hat above is the first project. It was a bunch of worsted weight wool and acrylic wool blend that I had laying around for about 4 years.

Decision making time

Time to stash bust. Should I knit a multistrand afgan? or should I buy this pattern (beekeepers quilt) and knit hexipuffs forever?
