#state stereotypes

Everyone in the US knows about standard state stereotypes - New Jersey is hell on earth, Ohio is so boring it may as well be hell on earth, Idaho doesn’t exist, etc. But I’ve been making up fake ones.

Oregon is occupied almost entirely by disguised lizard people. They aren’t trying to take over the world or anything and in fact they resent the stereotype.

South Dakota is in fact almost entirely depopulated; North Dakota and Nebraska have been fighting a total war over it for generations. The only reason the rest of the country doesn’t know is because hiding unpleasant things behind a smile is #JustMidwesternerThings

All Alabamans are sexually attracted to snow (including people who move there and people who move away).

Maryland has an exchange student program with the crab civilization beneath the sea (they provide Maryland with enormous amounts of their lesser cousins as part of the agreement).

All Rhode Islanders like to eat ass.

The USA is a big country and each state has it’s stereotypes and jokes. Some of these jokes might not be the best or true sometimes

Idaho and potatoes

New York and being rube

Alabama and incent

etc

My state is the butt of a lot of jokes

This is for that state stereotype thing, isn’t it. 

I am sad to inform you that I am not an alligator, nor have I ever seen an alligator in person outside of the zoo I volunteer at. Like ever. I have wandered near lakes that are apparently infested with crocodiles and not seen a single organism that wasn’t a plant or a duck.

idk bout all of georgia but one time I was there and I was in a small town and there were literally 9 different churches. I'm not even sure if there were 9 people in that town discluding me, but whatever. just. lots of bible thumping jerks.

excuse me I am no bible thumpin’ jerk, that’s the baptists. (shots fired, just like the shots from my sawed off shotgun, yee-haw) ;) 

But yeah man, there’s a joke about how you know you’re in Georgia if there’s a church and a Waffle House on every corner.  The sad thing is that it’s true.  I think there’s probably a church for every 10 people in my county.. (an exaggeration, but barely)

YESSSSSSS I LOVE PEACHES (I don’t), I HAVE SUCH A STRONG SOUTHERN ACCENT BOY HOWDY (Also a lie), AND I WEAR MY COWBOY HAT EVERY DAY (I don’t own one.. I feel like a fake Georgian...)

In honesty, i like peach ice cream, and I say words like “gonna” and other stuff, but I don’t have the accent.  And I tried on a cowboy hat once and kinda laughed at myself in the mirror, cause I looked pretty ridiculous.

State stereotypes: Religious , or at least raised that way.

Correct! I was raised Presbyterian, and we went to church every Sunday.  Kind of drifted away from it after a while, though.

Not I (it really smells bad to me). But coincidentally my mother does as well as 90% of the people I know.
