Jayden had, as per usual, spent the next six hours tracking down leads and looking over each piece of evidence thrice, when he really should be relaxing after what had just happened earlier that day. He let out a heavy sigh and pulled off the ARI, looking at the time. It was still early in the afternoon, giving him plenty of time to talk to another suspect — hopefully this one won’t be a dead end, both figuratively and literally.
He stepped out of his office and looked over at Blake’s desk momentarily before shaking his head and walking towards the door. However, he paused, moving his green gaze towards Graves in thought. After a few seconds, he slowly approached the man, “Hey, uh, I’m going to go investigate another suspect. You don’t have to come, especially since what happened earlier was a little… intense. But, the invitation is there, uh, if you do want to join me. It would be nice to have someone to watch my back. And to watch someone’s back in return.”
He slid his hands into his pockets and cleared his throat. “Anyway, I’ll be in my car for a few minutes, should you want to come. But I understand if you would prefer to stay and relax after the adrenaline rush earlier.”
Deciding that he was done speaking, the agent turned around again, exchanging glares with Blake as he exited the police station. He then sat behind the wheel, his fingers idly tapping away at the steering wheel as he stared straight ahead, curious to see if the man would join him.
