ok im finally gonna yap about my outsiders au FUCK

probably going to delete this soon in favor of making an actual full loredrop of the au but yah yapping under the cut

FUCK ok so its basically once you turn sixteen there's a small chance you can gain a set of powers. if you've ever read wings of fire it's kind of like animus magic, in the sense that you have a near limitless power supply but it eats away at your soul and body until there's nothing left and you're just a shell of your former self.

because of this, people with powers ( i need to find an actual name for them guys help) are usually encouraged not to use them or are sometimes outcast for it.

because these powers are usually genetic, both darry and soda inherited them (darry got umbrakenisis, the ability to shape and manipulate shadows, and soda got photokenisis, the ability to control light. (polar opposites ahah amirite)). ponyboy fortunately(?) was exempt and didn't get any.

ALSO!! when i said the powers eat away at your body im being literal, like i don't know how to describe it (i'll prb doodle it and post it later to give a visual) but like you know how siamese cats have like ombre effects on their limbs?? its like that?? ish??

while the curtis parents are alive darry and soda are really careful with their powers, but after mama n papa curtis pass away they start to become a little reckless.

after darry loses an eye due to over-exerting his magic in a fight, (again, shadows eating away at him cuz that's his powers) (also @scribble-clover @in-d3bt snatching yall's darry w/ partial blindness hc if you dont mind :3) darry and soda swear off using their powers unless strictly necessary. ponyboy, however, wants to find away to slow the effects of the magic.

ponyboy starts looking into magic reversal, in which you can rewire someone's powers to not effect their soul/body. however, the practice is illegal in most places because of the extreme danger and multiple risks. (ponyboy is like a not-so-mad scientist in this au)

i dont have the au fully fleshed out yet so ofc there are some plotholes and some places where i dont know what would happen, but that's the gist of it ig. also yeah im totally gonna drop some art of this au because i have some SICK soda and darry designs trustttt >:)

my case for a angst staticapple is basically Vox 100% is supposed to parallel or reference Lillith in some way so Lucifer gaining a unhealthy attachment to him because of how heart broken he was after Lillith is genuinely sooo interesting even more if luci doesn’t actually care for Vox & is using him to relieve him & Lilliths glory days which I call (lucvoxith) & Vox is just using Lucifer for his power
