You don't need a balloon or any preparations for this and it can provide little ones with hours of entertainment! Literally! All you need is an empty water bottle or pretty much anything made of plastic. Rub it vigorously on your hair and then place it next to a thin steam of water. Like magic, it bends the steam due to static electricity. The water is a mix of particles cancelling each other's charge. The bottle has a negative electric charge after rubbing it against the hair which causes the positively Hydrogen atoms from water to be attracted to it. The speed of the water falling and gravity also act on the water preventing it from sticking to the bottle as soon as it comes close to it. Remember to recycle the bottle!
