“ My my. What did the dog bring in? ”
A slightly mocking hiss sings out, massive but lanky frame crouching all the wooden floors, even laying the side of his head on the surface. All to get a very, very good look, at his inconspicuous find.
Little ittle footprints? Looks like someone forgot to clean their feet from traversing ink before scooting off to explore, giving away the path they took.
It’s not even the footprints themselves that piqued the interest of The Ink Demon so much-- in a constantly ink-filled world, ink footprints and other ink stains are the most common things to find down here. So what was so special about those footprints in particular?
They were HUMAN footprints.
Oh? Did a sinner return to the crime scene? He, as the self-proclaimed judge, jury, and especially executioner, shouldn’t be negligent and let this slide.
“ Just like Gretel and Hazel leaving bread crumbs. Who am I to not entertain myself and find the fugitive Gretel-- or Hazel, running around my studio? ”
The human footprints were obscenely small, but until the grinning demon can set his own eyes (if he has any) into this little rascal, the possibility of it being a returning human was all that mattered to him. Even though he did have a near omnipresent sense of the studio that allowed him to easily find hidden troublemakers, such omnipresence only helped him deduce targets’ location, not any further details.
His only gloved hand slowly brushes a finger over one of the footprints, a smudge of it forming a trail after his fingertip.
“ And would you look at that? Those are still fresh! VERY fresh. Our mysterious rascal must still be very close by! ”
The lanky ink creature stands back upright (or as much as his hunched spine let him,) his grin seeming to have gotten even wider, but it was hard to tell for sure.
“ Come out come out wherever you are! ” Bendy says in a sing-song tone, reading himself for a possible pursuit. “ Or don’t; I’ll still find out where you are anyways! Nobody lurks my studio unbeknownst to me for too long! ”
