Season 3 episode 6 "Snakebite" during the snakebite
(btw this episode is Cap's hottest episode)
Hi gang,
so I've played with my new software for making Gifs and unfortunately, they were way too big for here. More rounds of playing around were necessary but now they have the right size.
Anyway, here are the results:
Johnny's reaction to the exam's result (S06E07)
Station 51 back in quarters (S06E18)
Hope you enjoy. There'll be more as soon as I have more time for it - beside my other stuff doing. lol
Enjoy!
"You know something? I really thought we'd lost them out there today."
"You know, I've never been so glad to see anybody in my life as I was those guys down in the canyon." - "Oh yeah. That'll be handy in a real fire."
"Hey you're blowing the fire everywhere."

For Friendship Week Day 5: Defining Moments, here's the duality of firefighters at Station 51. Taking care of each other during a massive fire plus relaxing together once they're safe. And screwing up in delightful ways during their downtime.

*Station 51 standing around a broken coffee machine*
Captain Stanley: so, who broke it? I’m not mad I just want to know.
Everyone:
Roy: I did, I broke it.
Cap: No. No you didn’t. John?
Johnny: Don’t look at me… look at Chet.
Chet: What? I didn’t break it.
Johnny: Huh, that’s weird how’d you even know it was broken?
Chet: because it’s sitting right in front of us and it’s broken
Johnny: Suspicious.
Chet: No. It’s not.
Chet:
Chet: If it matters.. probably not.. but Marco was the last one to use it.
Marco: Liar! I don’t even drink that crap.
Chet: Oh really? Then what were you doing by the coffee cart earlier?
Marco: I use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles. Everyone knows that, Kelly!
Roy: Okay, let’s not fight, I broke it. Let me pay for it, Cap.
Cap: No! Who broke it?
Johnny:
Johnny: Cap.
Johnny: Mike’s been awfully quiet.
Mike: Really!?
Johnny: Yeah really-
Mike: Oh my god-
*everyone starts arguing*
—————
Cap:
Cap: I broke it.
Cap: It burned my hand, so I punched it.
He partnered with real-life pal Kevin Tighe (Roy DeSoto) on the popular NBC series, then did lots of soap operas.
The best take I’ve ever heard about Emergency and how paramedics relate to it was “Every day you go to work wanting to be Johnny Gage. If you stay long enough, you’ll wake up one day and BE Roy DeSoto.”
The thing that I just *really loved* about this man’s performance and what it did for the profession was that even though he portrayed a goofball, he was always a professional - and from the time I became a paramedic until now, I’ve tried to emulate that.
I’m really sad about this news.
Roy DeSoto Being a Gracious, Supportive Friend, Pt 1 of 3
There were several times in Emergency! that I thought Roy went above and beyond being the kind of friend that anyone would like to have, even though it could come at his own expense. One of the instances occurred in "Zero", season 3, episode 10. And I don't mean by laying down his life or the like, but by simply being a little extra kind to Johnny, who sometimes could let his pride get in the way.
In "Zero", John & Roy had been guests on a television show when John froze before the cameras, struggling to give quality answers. Several times, Roy intercepted and filled in. And guys being guys (I guess), the other firemen of Station 51 snickered and whatnot at Johnny as they all watched the interview together.
"Thanks alot, Roy."
"I didn't think you were going to go anywhere with it."
(Randolph does such a great job at expressing discomfort, embarrassment, or unease. He does that fretting, lip-pursing thing pretty much perfectly.) You can see Johnny looking nervously at Roy and Chet, particularly as Chet takes excessive enjoyment out of Johnny's stammering.
Meanwhile, Kevin wrings his fingers. He glances quickly with lowered lids towards Johnny, already sympathetic towards his partner. By their third year together, Roy has a perceptive anticipation for how Johnny is going to feel at being laughed at - he really doesn't like it. (Of course, who does? 😅)
