Concept statement
Upon receiving a final review from Clair, I have decide to go with the same style of work I did in the first assignment, digital collage. Diverging my research I looked further into the media art scene, looking at movies, video games, digital artworks and other interactive or semi interactive works. Incorporating the alien methods used by Alex Koshelov, Alex Levi & Burak Turfanda as well as the works by groups such as MKA & Creative Station gave me a renewed look into the methodologies, techniques and stylise available to me. With the incorporation of new sources such as; Tekken, Dragon Age, The Elder Scroll series, Journey and Final Fantasy(to name only a few) I could take a greater expansive approach to the work, and was not afraid to include elements I normally would separate. Including existing digital works and life photography in the same work for instance. I kept with my original theme of transcendence, but attempted to add the element of time that was missing in my previous works by showing the profession of the human through its developmental transcendence, not just technologically, but spiritually as well. It is here I find the inclusion of many eastern, new age philosophies, things such as Chi, Chakra and spirit guides, manifestations of energy and it's representations which brings body politics into the now somewhat complicated equation. But this desire by humanity to progress itself pushes us on still. Constantly brining into judgment our values and beliefs, but never relenting. By converging all the aspects of research undertaker during both the initial assignment and my reflection in this part, this collection of seven works will be an interesting endeavour.
