Alone - Short Story #2 - Part of the Nightmare Series
She got home from a long night of work. She felt tired and not just because it was two in the morning. She worked at an insane asylum a couple of blocks away. She was tired of having to deal with rude nurses and sexist doctors. She always felt so alone. But after a couple of days of working at the asylum, she felt like someone was there. Everywhere she went, she felt like someone was watching her every move. She shook it off and continued with her day. She walked into the kitchen and made some dinner. After that, she went to bed. A couple of hours later she awoke to a loud banging sound. She got up to see what was going on. She looked everywhere but couldn't find the sound. Then as she was going up the stairs to the attic, it stopped. Her blood froze as she felt a breath on her neck. "You're not alone anymore, Mrs. Kathy. You have us. All of us", a voice said from behind her.
