In Sonic The Comic Dr. Ivo Robotnik was able to use a machine to help him absorb the chaos energy from the Chaos Emeralds. This gave him the reality warping powers of the Chaos Emeralds. He was only defeated by Sonic outwitting him and working with Knuckles to drain the Chaos Energy from Eggman by using the Gray Emerald. Written By Eris

STC Sonic:I'm gonna hate myself in the morning but...*Saves Grimer's life from the Metallix in exchange for giving them the Alpha Device*

*This kick-starts one of the most traumatic experiences for him and Porker*

*Finds out Grimer created the Metallix but didn't thought of the Self-Destruct by himself leading to this whole mess, Grimer proceeds to create the Knuckles Metallix, keeps helping Robotnik to the point he even obtains God-like powers because of him, brings back Robotnik from Shanazar which leads up to the world nearly ending, frees Chaos who then kills Johnny, escapes Mobius and brings the mob family from the special zone before it's destroyed to Mobius so now they gotta deal with that and eventually through his machinations everyone in Mobius ends up hating him and makes him a fugitive*
