He was tired. Kakyoin knew that it was normal, but he couldn’t help but to still be a bit frustrated with it because it was starting to feel like he’d never quite be able to feel fully back to normal. It was understandable-- he was fresh off his extended hospital stay and this was all of his third day returning to his normal life.
Emotionally and physically tired-- mostly the latter though. He’d yet to get an actual, appropriate wheelchair tailored to him, and being stuck with the one he’d left the hospital in was exhausting trying to maneuver around in for hours during the school day. He’d had to stop along the side of the road on his way home just to catch his breath because his arms were burning under the strain of doing this for the past couple of days.
How frustrating...

❛ i’m ready to die anytime , any place , for any reason . ❜ -To Kak
“It’s a good thing I’m not asking you to die.” Maybe he is a little concerned but he knows Jotaro is pretty determined. “All I’m asking is for you to help me run for student council president.” He had become pretty confident since his trip and recovery, perhaps a newfound interest in leadership.
“It’s a big job, and I need my best friend by my side if I’m going to do it. No dying needed.”
“Happy birthday, Kakyoin.” He hands over an envelope with a card inside! How sentimental! I’m sure the message he wrote inside is nice, not to mention some money he slipped in. “Hope you like it.”
Kakyoin’s smile was soft, carefully reading the sweet little message inside. The words may have been short, but it’s like thousands of words were said to Kakyoin, who never had a friend wish him a happy birthday before. Well, he never had a friend at all before Jotaro but still.
“Thank you, Jojo. It looks like I’ll be using this money to buy some cherry pie for myself, unless you want to share it with me.”

Sitting alone at a café outside was nerve wracking for the woman, but as she watched the town’s people stroll alone wrapped up in their own personal bubbles she felt more and more at ease with her new move. Everyone here seemed normal. That was good. She needed a break from her profession, her face still fresh and popular among the people hunting her back in the larger cities. Morioh seemed like the best place to start after all.
A riled up voice caught Kasumi’s attention, eyes leaving the buildings across the street to see a young couple arguing over something she didn’t care to hear. Nevertheless she watched them, Cold Seep manifesting to stare as well. His white pupils shifted to his master, a low grumble resonating in his watery form,’They’re annoying. So loud.’
“Ah, then fix that.” Kasumi mused before taking another sip of her tea. Without another sound her Stand’s form melted into a shadowy puddle on the pavement, slithering over to the couple and staying still as a puddle between the two. All it took to end the argument was one misstep from the loudest of the two, the male slipping on the puddle and falling back into the occupied table behind him. Kasumi smirked at the aftermath, watching the woman storm off as Cold Seep returned to her side. His throaty laughter died quickly as his eyes stared off into the distance, as if something or someone had caught his attention suddenly. Maybe everyone is this town wasn’t as normal as she thought they were.
@stcrdvst asked: ❝ i trust you. ❞ (To Kakyoin!)
things you want to hear|| no longer accepting
The words mean a LOT, more than Jotaro will ever know. From a young age, Kakyoin didn’t feel trusted by many people. Isolation had been his one real constant as a child, social interactions had been so limited that even now he was still growing used to the concept of trusting and being trusted.
He feels a warmth in his chest, unable to stop the smile that creeps to his face. “I’m glad you’re able to. I trust you too.” The admittance holds a huge importance, Jotaro being one of Kakyoin’s first REAL friends. Fighting alongside him had proven time and time again that, while his personality WAS a bit brash at times, Jotaro was reliable, he was TRUSTWORTHY.
“I won’t let you down.”
[ @stcrdvst | continued. ]
“What are you even talking about?” Jotaro questions as his brows furrowed. He wasn’t particularly religious himself, so he never really thought about topics like that, even if this one sounded like a joke. He decides he shouldn’t give a serious answer.
“I dunno. Probably. He should be since I’m still standing.”
❝There might be some merit to your words,❞ he just hoped that they were both on the same page – and that the page belonged to a jokebook. It was hard for Kakyoin to convey humour in his tone; but considering how he and Jotaro have been communicating, he felt more at ease to clown around, ❝nothing is scarier than a guy who’s Stand can stop bullets and draw hyper-realistic sketches of uncommon insects, after all.❞
