When Lawrence was sixteen he found his first love. They fell in love quickly, starting what Lawrence describes to be the best relationship he will ever have. They dated all through out highschool and were practically inseparable. On Lawrence's 20th birthday, they got engaged. They started wedding plans immediately, wanting to have a beautiful summer wedding with a small number of guests. A few months before the wedding Lawrence received a call from the local hospital. His fiancé had been in a car crash, just clinging to life. He sat with him all night, never leaving his side. He told his lover about all the things they were going to do when they left the hospital. He reassured him about the wedding, telling him about a house he had been looking at, the baby they were going to adopt when he finished school. After a few short days, the love of his life had passed and left Lawrence with only the memories they had created. He called their families letting them know that the wedding was off through tear filled eyes. He kept the ring on for months after his fiancés passing, to remind him of the good times. Eventually he decided to wear the ring on a necklace around his neck to keep from forgetting. To this day he still wears the necklace, reminding himself of the best six years of his life.
Niccholi gave a look of faint surprise when the customer he was helping stepped out of the change room. "You know, that looks good on you." he stated coolly. "May I ask the occasion?"
Lawrence groaned. This school was nice, very nice actually, but why did there have to be so many fucking stairs? He hated stairs, he hated walking, and he hated being lost. In fact, there wasn't much about this place that wasn't annoying the shit out of him. "Jesus Christ, could this place be anymore over the top?" He huffed, still making his way to his assigned room. He was told upon arrival that he would have a room mate, an annoying one if he had to guess. Everyone here seemed so up their own ass, telling him the school was bad, being angry at him for not liking it... Oh well, some of them were nice. Lawrence looked at his papers, he was at the right room! He fumbled with the key and opened the door. The room was nice, it had two beds, assorted furniture, and places for his things. He started to unpack, smiling as he did so. It was nice to have a change, well, a total change of location. He dragged his bag over to the nightside table by his bed, opening it and taking things out one at a time. He pulled his phone charger out and threw it over his shoulder, hearing it hit someone behind him before making contact with the floor. Lawrence turned around slowly. "Who the hell are you and why are you in my room?"
The Ire of Zadkiel || Zach & Constantine
Constantine stood at the cliffs edge and stared out into the ocean - the size of it so insignificant to the eyes as old as these. His fiery rage had not subsided in the time that had passed and he began to grow concerned that his wings would reignite to the violet flames that they were when he was still connected to heaven. Now he stood with massive wings unfurled and visible to those unaware of the ethereal realm. The wings were black - the most pure shade of onyx that could blend into the abyss as if they were forged in it. They were burnt around the tips - charred from when the flames died in his falling from divine, falling and flickering out forever so he could be with Azrael.
Has the feathers not been caught by the breeze Constantine could have easily been thought a stone statue. It was quiet. The fury pooled calmly deep within him - hardening - ready to be used to crash down upon the betrayer. He would make the demon tremble in his holy presence... They were simply two creatures of mutual dislike when they had first met, and they had gradually climbed to stand on equal ground of two men. No longer. The miniscule trust had been destroyed and Constantine would make it utterly transparent to Zach.
The steps crunched leaves and broke the steady melody of wind and waves. Only one minute more and he was planning on dragging the demon out of wherever he was. Constantine waited until the footsteps ceased and Zach was very near, spreading his enormous black wings and casting an intimidating shadow on the demon.
"I will make this perfectly clear for you; we no longer stand as equals, Zach. You and I... Are angel and demon..." his tone was cold but still controlled. "And for what you have done to my brother - I will treat you as such. I would conjure your excuses quite carefully if I were you." Constantine kept his back turned to the creature, waiting in silence for the 'explanations' to fire off. He was sure a point had been made by his wings - for now - so he allowed them to fold closely around him and take the demon out of their huge shadow.
Raina glared at the top shelf of the bookcase and let out a sound of annoyance. It was her first day working at the bookstore as well as her first day in the town and already she was running into problems 'hopefully this won't be an omen of the rest of my time here'. Raina had always been aware that at 5’2 she was considerably short but she hadn’t thought it mattered working in a bookstore, boy was she wrong. The succubus moved the hand that was currently not holding the book she was meant to be placing onto her hip and looked around for some sort of assistance, her eyes landed on a rickety ladder “Well if I ever want to fall to my death I’ll be sure to use that” she muttered out. The girls eyes returned to the shelf and once again tried to stretch her arm to reach it, even going so far as to go on her tip toes and when that hadn’t worked she had actually attempted to jump up to no avail. “Come on Raina it’s just putting a book on a shelf you can do this. Just take a minute and think” It was then that the Succubus started considering using her powers of levitation and as she did she began to worry her lip between her teeth, using her power would decrease the length of time she could go without feeding but then again if the ladder broke or if she fell off of it and hurt herself the amount of time would decrease even more drastically. With her options weighed carefully the girl looked from left to right cautiously and then held out her hand, her eyes took on their demonic shade of red and the book floated off her palm and floated higher and higher until finally it was lined up with the top shelf all that was needed now was to push the book forwards. It was then that the girl noticed something or someone out of the corner of her eye and she panicked, the loss of focus causing the book to drop to the ground and her eyes to return to their human colour as she turned to look at the stranger with a startled expression on her face.
Oh crap someone had caught her using- wait a minute. 'Calm down Raina this is a place for supernatural beings. You don't have to wipe their memory' Right. That had been one of the main reasons her father had suggested she come here, to be able to use and expand the powers that she had not been able to when in the strictly mortal world. With the reassurance that there was no danger in what the stranger had seen, if they had indeed seen anything, Raina felt more at ease than she had been before but some anxiety lingered still. “Sorry about that you startled me. Welcome to Boogies & Fog Books, is there anything I can help you find?” A welcoming smile replaced the anxiety filled look she had worn before.
"I'm sorry - you need me for a psychology project?" Niccholi chuckled. "That is the strangest request I have received in my time here..." he brushed off. He thought for another moment, he was incredibly bored now that the darkness and tricks were washed away. He sighed. "Alright I will do it." he agreed after a pause. "So I am assuming that means you have questions or something for me to answer?" he drawled.
