Working on all those Steam Assets
So, I was putting off trying to sell a game on Steam until I had already proven myself with this awesome spectacular huge game. And I realized that I am just not getting the critical feedback I have to know if I am even headed in the right direction with my skills.
My take here is if you don't put something out there and let people react to it you kind of don't know how you measure up. You don't know that what you think is working might fail. Its very humbling to get to a point with a piece and not see anything else to do or be really proud of it actually working rather than noticing the obvious flaws with it.
Its never more humbling than to ask someone to play your game or ask for money for a thing only to immediately see how it does not measure up to the current industry standards. Its a true fire test to see if what you have built or what you are producing will withstand scrutiny.
So I am always looking for feedback now more than every. Please play my games leave feedback https://addiekinstudio.itch.io/, what worked well what didn't every bit of critique helps. The worst is not having any reaction at all. Almost wish I made broken things just to get some reaction but I cannot for the life of me do that.
So here is a piece I'm working on for the Steam library for Coldnights. Tell me your critiques what works what doesn't point me to your work so I can do the same, you don't really need to be an expert to know what is appealing or what is a little sus as well so any and all feedback is appreaciated.
I know I will probably look back in a few years and cringe, yet that is just a sign of how I will have progressed in my art and in game making. The real crime would be to never had put anything out to begin with and never be able to move beyond current moment of development. We all need to start somewhere.
