So! I'm moving out soon as I recently found one of my friends has a room up for rent. Do you have any advice that i may not know about before moving into my first place? I know this friend well and it'll be him, me, and another person I have seen around so all that's cool and stuff. Just thought to get some tips before going forward with this, and feel free to reply non-privately for any others that may be or will be in the same situation if you feel like doing so :)

okay, so roommate stuff. make sure that before you move in, you two sit down and have a serious convo about money. who will pay for what, when will they payments happen, who’s going to be responsible for the specific chores (bathroom/kitchen/other common areas). discuss how is the food and house supplies situation going to be handled (cooking/shopping etc). also, talk about quiet hours and sleep/shower schedule, and guests (how long they can stay, when can they come over). i know this seems like a lot, but it’s better to deal with it now, then do something that makes you two hate each other later.
i’d be best to write it all down so that it’s clear and agreed upon. that will help nip any resentment problems that often happen with roommates in the bud. i wish you the best of luck and i hope you and your friend love living together!
