Beat

Chuckling with a sweet, fanged smile, Encore looked at the large, quiet, and blushing Mule, sitting between her and Strings, and leaned forward. Her smile grew brighter as she sighed deeply and said:

Encore: "Guess it's my turn now, eh? Well, just like Mic, the first few years in school were rough, to say the least. Back then, my brother and I were the only ones in school who were part Bat-Pony."

Cori: "Needless to say, there were plenty of bullies. They often went after my brother, but after I confronted them, they backed away. At least, they did, until the day I met Mic, after music class."

Cori: "Both my brother and I have very keen hearing. Music class was tough to get through, but we got used to it. But the day I got my Cutie Mark, after drumming in class, some Ponies got jealous."

A chill ran down her back, and Cori shivered when she remembered that day. Without skipping a beat, Mic gently put his arm around her, pulling her closer, allowing Cori to rest her head on his chest.

After Cori closed her eyes, she sighed deeply as she discreetly wiped away a tear, running down her face. Both Mic and Strings smiled sweetly, and as Strings grabbed Cori a blanket, Mic quietly said:

Mic: "On my way to meet Strings, I heard the ear-splitting, high-pitched noise of lots of recorders being 'played'. A second later, Cori ran past me out of her classroom and hid herself in a corner."

Str: "Everyone in school heard that dreadful noise, including me and her brother. Corner Pocket was with Cori by the time I got there, but he couldn't help her calm down. That's when Mic stepped in."

Mic: "It was almost exactly like this. I tried to talk with her, quietly, when she dove towards me, and put her head to my chest. Corner whispered to me to keep talking, so I did, for quite a while."

Mic: "It took some time, but my deep voice helped Cori calm down. Eventually, she smiled again, and both Corner and Cori quietly thanked me for being there, even though we had never met before then."

Cori: "But, from that moment forward, we did. And I'm grateful every day."

Sunny: "Pretty much the only one of us who doesn't care much for video games is Melody. She just doesn't find them interesting. Encore is the best at 'em though; she always kicks our flanks."

practice diary/electric guitar day 2

Yay, my fingers didn’t hurt as much as they did yesterday!

But that doesn’t mean that they didn’t hurt at all (they still hurt a bit right now , 5 hours after I played), I think I’ll need a few days until they stop hurting completely. But it’s okay if they hurt today because I played for two and a half hours or so, and after my week of no practice at all, they would  hurt, no matter what, even after playing only my Granada for longer than an hour.

I’m still trying to figure out to play the Highway to hell solo, it just sounds wrong all the time, even though I can play more than yesterday. I hope that I can learn the last line, or at least one half of it, tomorrow, because the beginning starts to get boring after a while and the ending sounds just awful and long story short, it just isn’t fun to play after a while. So I looked for another song to play and  chose Avenged Sevenfold’s “Heretic”. I really love the song and the tabs don’t look that hard (well, the solo doesn’t look hard as well...) and it’s kinda fun to play. I want to be able to play it in two weeks or so, but I don’t have a real deadline because I play it just for fun, I don’t need it for my lessons. I’m not even sure if my guitar teacher has ever heard of Avenged Sevenfold.

Steps

Steel Strings: "To think that this, all of us together here, all bloomed from me meeting Mic on the playground so many years ago. I… can't even imagine where I'd be now, if I had not met you, Mic."

Strings: "I had a good feeling about Mic from the very first day of school. I don't know how, but I did. I only saw him during recess, always quietly standing to the side, far away from anyone else."

Open Mic: "I was almost as tall as our teacher back then. I reckoned my size would make other foals nervous, so I stayed away, often being by myself. But Steel didn't care, and he reached out to me."

Str: "After that day, we spoke more often, and started meeting after school as well. Found out that his Mom owns the ice cream shop in town. I promise, you won't find better ice cream anywhere else."

Str: "One day, he invited me to stay at his place, and… I- I can't express how genuinely grateful I am. I figured he was more comfortable at home, but knowing he felt comfortable around me, too…"

Str: "Like he said, he'd make other foals nervous with his size, his voice included. The first time I heard his true voice was that night, when we talked. I got chills, and I could not stop smiling!"

Str: "Hearing his beautiful, incredible voice, I just sat there, in silence, with my mouth and eyes wide open. I did have to reassure him when he grew quieter, though, that I was just in awe of him."

Str: "We hung out even more often after that, even into High School. When I look back to that time, seeing how Mic slowly started to grow more confident, it makes me smile, without fail, every time."

Str: "In fact, even though I stepped towards Mic on the playground, he helped make the band what it is today. I only met Encore, Melody and Sunny because of Mic, and I can not thank them all enough."

A small, shy, smile grew on the large Mule's face as he looked at Steel, who smiled brightly to him in return. Steel moved over to hold his hoof, whispering he was proud of him, which made Mic blush.

Without a word, they knew how much they cared for each other.
