Steen Springborg totally wins the Silly Firmin Hair Award™

He was Firmin in Copenhagen from 2000-2001, and in 2009. During those years he sported fun variants of the neatly combed down hair seen in Maria Bjørnson’s design.

2001: Kind of a “wetlook”, with small curls in front.

2009: Super neat large curls, giving Poirot’s Miss Lemon and her trademark hairdo a run for her money.

2009: A decent comb-over, solid side-burns and a moustache. The hair is probably the closest to Maria Bjørnson’s design, and also the most typical Firmin look.

2009: Like a merge of the two other 2009 look, but here the hair is equally divided in front, and forming symmetric curls.

Note: this has been sitting in my drafts for a long, long time. I made the photoset just a few days before Steen Springborg died, and it just felt so wrong to post it. But he was a goddamn amazing Firmin and his har is still the best.

I was extremely sad to hear about the passing of Steen Springborg, the original Firmin in Copenhagen (2000-2001, 2009). He was only 67. I got the news some weeks ago, but I haven’t fully digested it. Steen Springborg was, hands down, one of the best Firmins I’ve seen. Super solid, perfect comical timing, and just so very much... Firmin. A stage talent gone too soon.

Another Royal Albert Hall design, here for Masquerade. I spot a double Patti Cohenour (side stairs). Elizabeth Loyacano and Tim Martin Gleason is in center front with (I think) the same pair behind them. To the left the Danish managers Steen Springborg and Morten Staugaard in Masquerade attires. I am 99% certain they borrowed that photo from my costume page, as that photo was never published by the theatre. I am lightly amused.
