I feel like this moment was a bit of shade at a certain someone, but probably not. Em is entirely too sweet for something like that, I think. I do love what she said in this video about letting your animals settle into their environment and get used to you before you’re like, “SELFIIIIIE”. I also appreciate that instead of just saying, “Do your own research”, Em said to do as much research as possible. I feel like that’s a more responsible statement. She was sure to let you know that her care tips are what work for her, but that it’s important to do as much research as possible. I feel like that is an important thing that good pet youtubers should stress. Not even they are perfect, so I feel it’s a good thing when they’re willing to admit that and to encourage you not to assume that they know everything. Also, it’s very important that they’re open to critcism, which Em seems to be. She doesn’t seem to throw a fit or roll her eyes at it when she talks about it like some people.
Also, Steff J’s video about her new chameleons was pretty great. While she wasn’t entirely prepared to bring them home just then, she was willing to show the consequences of that, which was that she had to make a quick supply run to get what she needed to get them set up. She also mentioned that while she did make a bit of an impulse purchase, she had already done tons of research on it over the years so that she knew what she was getting into.
It’s a shame these ladies don’t have more viewers. I highly recommend both of them.
