Inktober Day 1 is upon us!

(Yes, it is day 1! What other day could it possibly be?!)

This one goes out to Kiwi Blitz, by Mary “Cube Watermelon” Cagle.

I’ve been reading this comic since its first year, and something about the world has always really spoken to me -- it’s basically a cyberpunk setting, without the “punk” aspect, except it’s still kind of a technological dystopia, but you don’t really notice so much, because everything is colorful and cute, and there are adorable animal motifs everywhere.

Ms. Watermelon has a pretty cool Tumblr blog, and stuff you can buy, and you can subscribe to her Patreon.

Anyway, please enjoy this drawing of a superhero and master thief having a heated argument about what those shapes behind them are supposed to be.

In pursuit of authenticity to the source material, I spent a good while trying to pick the right electronic song to listen to while drawing it. I chose “Heavyweight” by Infected Mushroom.
