Missing Armies Appeal
This is an incredibly long shot, but maybe the power of the internet can prove itself again...
So, in 2007, I impulsively decided to see all the warhammer I owned to buy a new guitar (this was a very bad decision, but I was a teenager in a really bad place at the time so my judgement wasn't exactly great). I would really love to know what happened to it all in the end, it was 3 armies I spent about 6 or 7 years amassing.
These armies were:
A large 40k Blood Angels army, including multiple tanks and other vehicles. Memorable minis: a space marine land raider with a three letter name (my name) written on the front banner, a Commander Dante mini smothered with so much gold paint it had lost the facial features. Mostly painted in red, but there was also a squad of Death Company, a Furioso Dreadnought, and an old-style Rhino painted in the typical black with red crosses.
A large Warhammer Fantasy Lizardmen army. Memorable minis: 2 stegadons, Kroq-Gar riding a Carnosaur, a slann mage priest. Painted mainly according to box art as far as I remember, but I could be wrong.
A medium-sized 40k Tyranid army. I started this just after the style of Tyranids changed to the more current form, away from the more upright previous style. I don't remember so well what was in this army since I had it a relatively short time, but it included 2 carnifexes I think. The most distinctive thing about this army would be the colour scheme, which was green flesh with bleached bone (Ushabti bone in the new colours) carapaces.
All of these armies were more or less fully painted to a very low standard (maybe one or two individual minis not done). They were sold on ebay in 2007 on an account that did not belong to me. I think that at least one was shipped to Australia, and at least one to Scotland. I would think that it would have been memorable for whoever bought them, since they got a huge number of minis, relatively cheap. They probably arrived in a poor condition from the amateur packaging.
Please repost this as much as possible, and if any of this sounds familiar to anyone, please get in touch. Maybe you didn't buy it yourself, but maybe you remember someone you knew from that time who got an entire painted army from ebay? I would just like to know what became of it all, even if the answer is that it was lost or thrown away.
Thanks for reading and sharing!
