Finally a new mini to share! Behold, Angron!
A little bit of festive cheer (apologies for the deviation from mini painting!)
Finally finished!
Almost there...
It's slowly coming together (it's only taken 2 years to get to this point!)
I've been gone a while, with things happening in life etc. But I've started painting (slowly) again recently. First up, two more zombies to add to the 'done' pile.
Some better photos of the trench-style base for my Chaos Knight.
Based up the Tyrannofex.
More basing work, sorry for bad photo quality! Calling this done for now, but may add some extra details some other time.
At the moment I'm working through my backlog of minis to be based, starting with this Eldar/Craftworlds jetbiker.
Simple but effective, I'm quite happy with this experiment.
Tyranid Tyrannofex, quite happy with this, though not perfect. Still needs basing. Plus a bonus family photo with some hormagaunts!
Throwback alert
My brother found this while clearing out my old room, a 'kitbashed' Tyranid of mine back from the old days:
Bad conversion, bad paint job, bad basing, but a fun idea anyway. And a good chance to see how far I've come since then, especially since I'm working on a big Tyranid model right now too. Funny how my current Tyranid colour scheme isn't a million miles away from this one though!
This.....this is beautiful. It may be a bit crude in execution but it’s obvious alot of effort went into it. Not to mention the roughness gives it an organic feel that is so right. What did you call it? The name Crabfex comes to mind as I gaze upon it and imagine this monstrous horror skittering across the battlefield screeching before gripping some poor soul in it’s claws and tearing them asunder. I’ve had similar ideas of using just monstrous scything talons as limbs to make a Spiderfex that counts as a Screamer Killer.
The Hive Mind is pleased with addition to the Swarm.
I actually never named this, or fielded it in battle. But now, using inspiration from an online Tyranid name generator (https://www.realmofplastic.com/warhammer-40k-blog/tyranids-character-name-generator) I name this... thing... the Green Fiend. One of a just a few such observed spiderfexes, if a cursory google search is to be believed.

I like it. And there is no such thing as bad. If you like it, that'd all that matters
I like the idea, but looking back on it now (this is around 15years old I think!) I can see that it was executed quite sloppily and rushed. I would love to try kitbashing Tyranids again in the future, but GW don't seem to give you the same amount of spare parts they used to. That and a general lack of time mean it will probably be a few years before I get round to a 2nd attempt!

Just a few tidy-ups and the final varnish to do, but basically finished.
Legs assembled and more or less finished now. I'm very happy with the weathering effects throughout! Still deciding if I want to put something on the banner; on the one hand I'm not a fan of transfers but on the other it looks a bit empty as it currently is. Maybe if I can find/make a good template I can paint something on?
Some more progress. Nearly finished with the legs now! Will post better photos when it's all done and assembled.
