Such an astoundingly inventive soundtrack. When you look past the period pop pieces, Coppola's orchestrations are such a wonderful meld of Messiaenic dischord and explorative synthesis. In an era when many people failed to marry traditional instruments with analogue synths, I feel this one of the few that commendably did so- without loss of the 'human' element. It bridges the gap between the evocative nature of acoustic playing amidst the other worldly realm of synthesis, using techniques such breath control, with such flair and sincerity.
