At the American Museum of Natural History I found two exact replicas of Stela H and Stela A from the Mayan ruin complex of Copán in Honduras. These two stelae represent rulers of Copán and they’re carved in a tridimensional fashion that makes them some of the most beautifully carved stelae from any Mayan city giving Copán the nickname of the Athens of the Mayan World for the exquisite quality and detail of the stelae.
