STELLAR returns with “Vibrato” MV, which is a great song & not as sexy as it seems/sounds.

Just a lot of symbolism that only YOU can turn into sexual stuff if you so want to.

While I’m def pro less unnecessary sexy concepts, let’s be honest…all the buzz about how sexy or inappropriate this will be is the only reason half of you will check out this super underrated group who were developed with the help of SHINHWA’s Eric. 

Oh, you didn’t know that. BAM

But yes. Sexy is the sad truth about the entertainment industry.

[UPDATE] For people who say Eric is not their producer anymore, I know that but he did help "develop" the girl group from pre-debut to their first few comebacks. The fact they had a famous sunbae producer, solid songs and talented members, still led to worst sales than when they turned sexy really says something about the industry.

On Stellar's Comeback (Marionette)

If you've seen Stellar's comeback, you definitely know what I'm talking about here. If you haven't, well... you probably don't want to watch it and know what's up. Let's just say there's a reason I'm not linking the video and there's a reason it has more dislikes than likes on Youtube, and a definite reason that KBS banned it.  I watched this music video the day after it came out and was working on midterm stuff and then had too busy a weekend to post about it.

First impressions: Wow, awkward dance. Really awkward dance. So awkward I actually had to look away from my screen, and I've cleaned baby bird carcasses being eaten by bugs out of nest boxes for my old internship. I don't hate when girls have dances where they rub their butts, but I do have problems where dances feature explicit butt-rubbing, boob framing, and inner thigh rubbing. My next thought was "OH GOD WHAT HAS ERIC DONE" which later, to my EXTREME relief, was quelled. Eric (from Shinhwa) used to produce Stellar but he does not produce them now. So, I was very glad to know about that. 

Song: Completely forgettable. I've watched/listened to it at least five or six times to give the song a chance, like I do with most songs. No dice.

Dance: Boob frame, boob frame, deliberate butt rub, let me rub my inner thighs ooooh. It's like watching someone trying to get themselves off while slowly dancing. No thanks, just not for me.

Video: All the awkward parts of the dance, close up shots nobody wants to see... Also, if I liked milk before this video even a little, I wouldn't be able to drink it now. Milk was a very unsubtle symbol for, well, you get the idea. Too awkward, not worth watching.

My final thoughts? I'd be willing to give this song a chance watching it live if I knew the dance was even partially salvageable for music shows, or if the song had something memorable. As it is, I'm left wondering who took over producing them and who thought it was a good idea. I understand this song has more views than the rest of their songs, but the Bubble Pop route was not the way to go. The song's not for me, it shouldn't be for anyone. I'll stick to Spica and the new rookie group that really knocked it out of the park so far this year. But I want to know what others have to say. Have you seen it, or did my review keep you from watching, either way, I'd love to know. So, what do you think?
