There are three past girl groups (predecessors of the Honey Girls) that I’m developing for my Honey Girls AU. They’re significant in the story because not only are they the in-universe inspirations for the trio but also share similarities in style: being colorful and having a star/astral theme in certain ways. The Honey Girls’ manager, Madeline, was a former member of one of them.

Stellectra being so similar to the Honey Girls was what made people think that the present-day trio are carrying on their legacy. Being a trio band with the center being a feline keyboardist (except Claire’s image color is pink rather than purple), as well as being the only band of the predecessors who also play instruments instead of just being vocalists and dancers.
Perhaps Teegan owning a special edition vinyl of Stellectra’s biggest hits was part of her forming her band with Risa and Viv alongside sparking her love for synthy music and both playing and making it herself…
